Gunnar Lane's Baby Cave

We have been spending much of our time getting things ready for our baby boy's arrival. One of those many things happens to be our sweet baby boy's nursery. His daddy worked hard putting his crib together as soon as it arrived. Though we are still adding little touches here and there...it is almost complete. Now, if we can just get little man here we will officially be 100% complete.

Josh is going to be such an amazing father/daddy. I don't know what I would do without this man. Sorry for the sappiness, but he is truly a blessing. He has waited on me hand and foot throughout my pregnancy. Even listened to me crying at 10 P.M. on a work night because I couldn't "shake" the amazing taste of a Sonic chocolate milkshake before going to bed and him working all day. Did I mention we were already almost half asleep? ...but what does daddy do? He gets up and drives to Sonic for Gunnar's mommy. I have it good...real good. I'm still trying to figure out how I will convince him of these late night cravings even after Gunnar arrives (hehe).

As Gunnar's due date approaches, both Josh and myself can't help but to feel a little anxious. My nerves are in full force to say the least, and it really isn't from worrying about labor pains, water breaking, or anything of that nature. I mean, don't get me wrong (shaking knees)...that is definitely on my mind but not top concern. I just want to be the best mommy I can be. I want my sweet baby boy to feel the love I have felt from my own parents for almost 26 years of being on the earth. Josh and I both cannot pass up talking about our son every moment that we can get a word in whether it is just us two talking or in a crowd. Forgive us, people, we are a little obsessed. Call us crazy, but we are in love...in love with an itty bitty being that has yet to even enter this world. We cannot wait to laugh with him, watch him take his first breath, go to the beach for the very first time, visit Mickey and Minnie in Disney World for the very first time, throw the football, splash in the pool, read to him...and the list goes on...and on...and on.

Below you will find a few pictures of our baby boy's nursery which we adore. Josh is certain he will appreciate that his very first bedding had deer on it as he already has many hunting and fishing trips already in the works for the future. Only 7 weeks to go! If not less...but who is counting, right?
(Ahhhhhhhhhhh...pure joy.)

Gunnar's SES Shower

Thank you to the third grade teachers at SES, Lane Kelly, and Kristen Tucker for a precious shower at Shannon Elementary this afternoon. They are each so precious to me, and I cannot thank them enough for hosting an adorable shower for our little man, Gunnar Lane. Even sweet Sadie Lea Tucker got to join in on all of the fun! She is such a little angel.

The food was delish! There was fresh fruit and dip, BLT dip/chips, nuts, monogrammed cupcakes, a snickers dip with vanilla wafers (yum), and yummy punch. These girls sure do know how to put a smile on my face...food. These days...that's all I seem to think about...literally. hehe

Gunnar's 1st Baby Shower

Today was a very special day! Andrea, Alisha, and Mrs. Jackie hosted a precious baby shower for our little man, Gunnar Lane, at Harvey's Restauant this afternoon. Boy, is he loved! It was absolutely precious!

Everything screamed "Josh Herndon's little buck-a-roo" throughout the entire space. The decor was very rustic and so personalized straight down to the homemade strawberry jam Andrea and her grandmother made as shower favors for all of the guests.

Josh and I drove home with grins so big our faces hurt. We simply couldn't wait to get home and begin unpacking the car so that we could get everything washed, organized, and put together. Talk about making this whole experience even more real! Less than 10 weeks and our little chunky monkey will be in our arms.

We are so blessed to have such loving friends and family. We were overwhelmed by all of the love, gifts, and guests who came today to shower our first born with hugs, belly rubs, and gifts to make his first few years nothing but the best! Below you will find a few of the guests from our very exciting and unforgettable afternoon celebrating the upcoming arrival of our gift from above, "Gman."

Dear World, Meet Gunnar Lane

On April 10th, we were able to see our little "Gman" for the very first time on 3/D - 4/D sonogram. There was absolutely nothing like it. For the very first time we were able to put a little mouth, little nose, and little fingers and toes with what I have been feeling squirming around inside of me since 16 weeks of pregnancy. There were over 100 pictures taken on this day, but here are 4 that show your little facial features developing into one chunky monkey of CUTENESS. We got a kick ot of the comments made by Mandi at Baby's Kickin' who did your sonogram. She said, "I have never seen a baby at 26 weeks have such chunky cheeks!" We loved it! Now, if we can just get you here so we can kiss those little cheeks of yours. You are loved so much already.

Look at those lips!

Now, we only have to wait until May 8th to see your precious face again to see how much you have grown.

We
can
hardly
wait!

Here is a fun little video of you kicking in your mommy's tummy...

There is absolutely nothing in this world she loves doing more than feeling you wiggle around inside of her.
Loving you always, sweet angel...

Playin' Catch Up from the YEAR 2011

It's officially time to play a little game of "catch up!" 2011 was quite the eventful year...so eventful I haven't had a blog post since last summer. Pretty sad, huh?

Let me start off by picking up with the most exciting thing that happened since last June...

October
Josh and I announced we were going to be parents! We found out in October and couldn't wait to shout it across the country to all of our friends and family. We announced it to our families and just a couple friends as soon as we found out the news; however, it wasn't until much later that we "officially" announced our little peanut's upcoming arrival on the well-known social network...facebook.

"Before I made you in your mother's womb, I CHOSE YOU."
 December
The love we felt for this sweet blessing so early on is nothing that can be described in one blog post alone. We felt and continue to feel so overwhelmed with happiness with each passing day. It wasn't until December 6th that we heard our angel's heartbeat for the very first time at a whopping 161 bpm. This was a day we will never forget as long as we live. There is nothing like that moment when you get to see such a tiny, yet large creation from our Heavenly Father. What a gift! But...July seemed sooo far away at the time. This is when mommy and daddy would have to learn patience. A whole new kind of patience...because it was now time to sit back and enjoy the journey of PREGNANCY. Yikes...& with all of the smiles and tears of happiness came many days of being plum, plain sick...sick as a DOG. There were days I didn't think I would eeeever make it through, but I managed to slip right on through that first trimester after many scares, doctor visits (even hospital visits), an IV due to dehydration...and did I mention the stomach virus? BARF.

Sooooo...then comes our little celebration trip and "babymoon" to Gatlinburg, TN the week after Christmas. We left on a Wednesday (28th) and spent the rest of the week/weekend in the mountains ringing in what will be the most memorable and life changing years of our lives...2012. The year that our sweet baby will make his appearance into the world.

January
Then on January 31st @ Baby's Kickin'...guess what???

We found out we were having a baby...BOY!

That following weekend we had a gender reveal party with our close friends and family. We were able to finally announce the upcoming arrival of our sweet...
